This series of interviews documents the “Legacy” mural project, a collaborative effort by muralist Desi Mundo, artist Flo Oy Wong, building owner Denise Chinn, and project director Roy Chan of the Oakland Chinatown Oral History Project. The mural is located at 723 Webster Street in Oakland’s Chinatown, the former site of the Wong family restaurant, The Great China.
The Legacy Mural was the last public artwork to receive funding by the Oakland City Council in 2024.
